myDoggySocial is a Free mobile app where you can find other dog lovers for free – a socialization and networking app exclusively for dog lovers.

– socialize your dog
– find a dog playmate
– find a date (dog lovers are down to earth, kind and compassionate)
– make new friends (dog people are a special kind of human)
– create your own dog meetups,
– organize and attend dog related events and meetups (for a small meetup of 2 to a full sized event of 1000+, nothing is too big or small to schedule)
– search and find local dog walking groups and dog playgroups near you

Dogs are, by nature, pack animals. And pack animals love socializing with others of their kind. It helps ground and energize them. Dogs are also able to romp and rough-house with other dogs in a manner they can’t behave with humans. It is important for their well being and happiness that they socialize and play with other dogs – especially if they belong to a one-dog household. Young puppies are especially in need of socialization at an early age in order to get them accustomed to situations so that they know how to act and react appropriately to various  circumstances and environments, including:

  • how they react to people and other animals while on walks
  • how they behave when they see people with hats, glasses and other accessories
  • how they respond to strange or new environments and surroundings
  • teaching them not to bite, nip at or jump on people.
  • showing them how to be gentle around children and seniors
  • encouraging calm behavior when they hear sudden or loud and unexpected sounds

Socializing your dog helps you have a happy and confident dog who is trained to react appropriately to his environment.

The benefits for human pet parents are also tangible – ‘Dog people’ understand how to be around dogs and aren’t afraid or uncomfortable having them around. They understand when dogs are barking in a friendly manner vs an aggressive manner and are also more willing to help you socialize and train your dog or young puppy. Experienced dog owners know when to give your dog space, when to ignore them, and when to interact with them so that your pup learns its manners and proper behaviour around people and other dogs. They can give new dog owners pointers and advice. Also, you get outdoors and on the move, and build your stamina, strength and mental well being. A breath of fresh air and the company of like minded individuals does wonders for your health. Single people normally love building networks and adventuring, but it can be hard to find people who also love dogs in the same way – there’s a special joy in being able to head out with our loyal furry companions.  It is also important for couples to maintain healthy friendships and networks outside of the couple bubble – your partnership is strengthened and renewed when you break away from the monotonous routine of daily life and spend time being active outdoors, making new friends both human and canine. It also strengthens the bond between yourself and your dog.

It can be hard finding dog events/activities/meetups. There are plenty of sites on the internet that tell you about them, but they may charge fees to host the details. Our mobile app allows you to find and attend dog meetups and events for free. You can also create, organize and schedule your own for free! The best part is, you can check in at your event or meetup location and people who happen to be in the area can easily find and join you! If you’ve scheduled a dog trail walking or hiking meetup and someone is running late, you don’t have to worry about them not being able to find you – they can simply look on the app and see where you’re at and head on over without any hassle! No man (or pup!) gets left behind!

Meetup Features in the App

You can easily check in on our App, which places a pin showing your location on a map. Please note that this will be displayed publicly to all users on the app until you check out.

You can also look up dog events and dog meetups nearby – browse through events that are available for the day and for the week ahead.

You can easily create and schedule your own events – just want to hang out for some hot dogs and companionship? Or want to organize a larger, more structured event? Nothing is too big or too small to schedule, just set it up and see if anyone signs up to attend! Or, if you’re checked in at the event location at the event time, people around you can see you’re there and come visit!
